The John Arena Foundation is a non profit program dedicated to creating and providing empowering culinary experiences and activities for people living with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions that affect movement.
Through this initiative The World Pizza Champions team has joined with the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center For Brain Health in devising cooking activities such as pizza making classes and social activities designed to give PD patients and their caregivers new skills and a continued sense of active engagement.
Parkinson’s disease is an age-related degenerative brain condition, meaning it causes parts of your brain to deteriorate. It’s best known for causing slowed movements, tremors, balance problems and more. Most cases happen for unknown reasons, but some are inherited. The condition isn’t curable, but there are many different treatment options.
At the John Arena Foundation we’re here to encourage those with movement disorders and provide fun and engaging hands on activities.
